DEPARTMENT: Optical
REPORTS TO: Managing Optician
Job Summary: This individual will be responsible for assisting the Managing Optician in all aspects of lens production and quality control for the lab. Duties will include frame repair, frame dispensing, frame adjustment, and frame selection/measurement.
Education and Experience:
- Varied optical/dispensary experience of five to ten years preferred, with emphasis on areas mentioned above.
- Experience in dealing with frame representatives and equipment vendors.
- Familiar with managed vision care plans and their individual benefits/requirements.
- Inventory management experience preferred.
- Maintain all required state licensure.
- Demonstration of appropriate team player attitude and enthusiasm.
- Ability to safely and adequately operate lab equipment.
- Working knowledge of all current lens materials, coatings, frames, etc.
- Good interpersonal and sales skills.
- Computer literate in Word and Excel (or equivalent spreadsheets).
1. Operations
- Assist in effective inventory and quality control for the lab.
- Perform frame repair as needed.
- Contact patients for dispensing of optical goods when ready.
- Perform frame adjustment when frame selecting/dispensing.
- Attend annual training in area of expertise to maintain knowledge of current ophthalmic goods.
- Take measurements and enter spectacle orders (for in-house and third party labs).
- Communicate effectively with Managing Optician regarding status of equipment and quality of in-house work.
- Help develop and maintain routine maintenance/cleaning of lab and equipment.
- Liaison with frame representatives.

The Bond Eye Clinic, Inc. was established in October of 1996 in Amite, Louisiana by Dr. Richard Hunter Bond. In July of 1997, the Clinic was incorporated with the opening of a new location in Denham Springs, Louisiana. In February of 1999, the Clinic expanded by moving to a larger office in Amite, and a few years later, Dr. Daphne Richardson began seeing patients while maintaining her own private practice in New Orleans. continued to expand with the opening of Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic and Surgery Center in Hammond, Louisiana in 2005, when Drs. Chris & Sarah Wroten joined the practice. Drs. Richard Bessent & Barbara Noguchi began providing services shortly thereafter. Dr. Adam Paddock joined the staff full-time in 2007, and Dr. Scott Nelson began providing services in 2008. Growth of the practice continued with construction of a new facility in Amite in 2009. After 14 years of proudly serving the residents of Tangipahoa, Livingston, East Baton Rouge and St. Helena Parishes, the Bond Eye Clinic, Inc. officially changed its name to Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic in 2010, and continues to grow while remaining committed to excellence in eyecare.
